I am the first pancake.
I am 31 years old. I’m married to a paleolimnologist. That means my husband studies mud. I’m a stay at home mom. I love to read. I love to cook. I have a younger brother, and a younger sister, Annie, who has Down Syndrome.
I’m a fan of dark chocolate, the Portland Trailblazers, California, home grown tomatoes, german engineering, lemon pledge, the BOB Revolution, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Target, pumpkin spice lattes, pajama pants, that new baby smell, recycling, old farmers, and catholic education.
I am afraid of fish, and I strongly dislike cauliflower, cilantro, winter, the skinny jean, Bjork and her indie hipster icelandic wailing, short stories, french toast, and animated television.
I would rather my husband cheat on me than vote for a Republican, but I harbor a secret soft spot for Ronald Reagan.
I will always always always support a woman’s right to choose, and I will never vote for anyone who doesn’t.
I lost sixty pounds before I got pregnant with my son, Eli, aka Senor Pants.
Now I’m trying to lose 30 pounds of baby weight. It’s turning out to be a lot harder the second time around.
Although I no longer live in Nebraska, I still believe in making the best of what you’ve got.
And writing this blog keeps me sane.

So you must be from Portland at some point, huh? A TrailBlazers fan AND I read a post with a Powell’s mention…I’m an Oregonian (and current Portlander), too!
You are very talented. I’m glad I came across your blog.
I was looking for info to hang curtains and came across your blog, I laughed until I cried. You are a great tonic for the frustrated curtain hanger. Thanks for your story.
Well, I’m still in Nebraska.
I love your blog.
I came accross your blog via “tag surfer.” I love your etsy stuff. I’m been making apliques on onsies too and matching them up with crochet stuff. I really like that turtle one you’ve got.
Interesting to read your “religious testimony.” It’s nice to hear your honesty. We are pinching our pennies as well and I’m always so amazed at God provision every day. I hope that God finds a special place in your heart as He has in mine.
