Princess Nebraska’s Summertime Recommends

Ten Things I Highly Recommend:

1. American Eagle T Shirts.

Man,  I have no idea what they’re doing over there at American Eagle right now, but I am butt crazy in love with their t shirts. Flattering, nice and long, awesomely soft, the right colors, and super cheap. What more can you ask for? I’m partial to the ballet neck one and the tiny pocket one.  Also, you can usually find a 15 or 20% off coupon code with minor googling.

2.  Fleurish jewelry on Etsy.

I’ve been trolling Etsy lately for necklaces and as usual with Etsy its a mixed bag, but I love everything in this shop.  The necklace I ordered was lovely, and even Mr. E thought it was cool since it was made from an agate. (This isn’t the necklace I bought, just an fyi)

3.  Brown Cow chocolate yogurt.

This has that nice not too sweet sour chocolate flavor that I love, it reminded me of chocolate cheesecake. And it has chocolate sauce on the bottom!!!!  It’s 150 calories, which is about 50 more than “diet” yogurt, but it’s 100% natural and doesn’t have any fake sugar in it, so I think it’s worth it.

4.  My new LG phone.

I know this so isn’t any kind of fancy cool person phone that I can dial with the power of my mind or anything, it doesn’t even have a cool name like the “Shocker”  or the “Syncrocker” or whatever assy things they’re calling phones these days, but the “The UX260” is the first phone I haven’t hated since they took away my beloved pink Nokia.  At least in our phone store it seemed like they were getting away from the flip phone, to which I say THANK GOD. I hate those phones. Also, please note my phone is white and super cute.  Not pink Nokia cute, but close.

5.  Barq’s Diet Root Beer. It totally does have that root beer bite and plus it has no caffeine and I love it.  End of story.

6. The Ektorp chair from IKEA.

People.  I have been waiting my WHOLE FREAKING LIFE for a puffy white chair with rumply slip covers that I could sink into at the end of the day and yesterday it arrived and I am in MAD HOT LOVE with my puffy white chair. It should come as no surprise to you that no one but me is allowed to sit in it, and that Eli is drawn to it like a moth to a flame. When he wants attention he goes over to it and looks right at me, and then very carefully puts one hand right on the cushion.

Also, please do not tell me how dirty is it is going to get and how fast. That is why it has slip covers and if they get dirty I will wash them.  And they sell more slip covers at IKEA for $24.99 each so my chair gets too dirty I will BUY A NEW COVER.  Living on the edge since 1998, that’s me

7. Naps.  Life is so much better with naps.  Not for me.  God no. I never nap.  But seriously, you can find out exactly how well my day went by asking me  “how many naps did the boy take and for how long?” and if the answer is “two and they were really long” then you know that today, today is a day I can make it through.

8.  The Method Toilet Bowl cleaner.

It’s been well documented that I am not usually a fan of Method products and their ralph inducing smells, but this wasn’t half bad. It actually smelled kind of nice, it’s supposedly all natural and non toxic and all that hoo ha, and granted our toilet is brand new, so it’s not a big challenge, but it did get clean, so I have to say I’d buy this again.  I liked the fact that I didn’t feel like I had to wear safety glasses while I cleaned my toilet.  Not that I would do that.  But just imagine what would happen if toilet bowl cleaner got in your eye! AHHHHHHHHHHH!

P.S. I totally wear safety glasses when I clean the toilet.

9.  Enfin La Voila stationery.

I am a big fan of this Etsy shop! Everything is so pretty and clean and classic and crisp and fun and beautiful and just the right kind of different. I ordered blog cards from her and I wanted a bunch of changes and she was very awesome and helpful and accomodating and I had a minor issue to work out and she fixed it right away.  Love.

10.  That Allison Krauss/Robert Plant song “Killing the Blues“from that JC Penney commercial.  Love it. Could listen to it all day. Bought the song on Itunes and bought CD.  Have become fully brain washed by JC Penney, Sony, corporate america, robert plant, The Man, NBC, CBS Walmart, Darth Vader, and Texas. Don’t care.

FIve Things I Totally Don’t Recommend In Any Way Shape or Form:

1.  Unpacking an entire IKEA Marglorborsby or whatever the hell it is and finding out that there’s a giant ding in the front of it.  PAIN IN THE ASS, that is.

2.  Parenting a child that plays in cat litter.  YUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRS.

3.  The New Kids on the Block video, which just mad me sad and squicked out and disturbed and annoyed and semi irate, all at the same time.  Just go sell estate and leave us alone!  We already endured you once, you cretans!  Quit reminding us how old and sad you are and go away!

4. 104 Degrees.  Enough said.

5.  Parenting a child that plays in cat litter.  Oh, did I already mention this?  Is this on the list TWO TIMES? Well I am mentioning it TWICE because I just caught him playing in the cat litter FOR A SECOND TIME AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH.
