Set Your DVR on Stun

Rumor has it that my first foray into reality television (our episode of Turf Wars) airs this Monday, 7/19.  On the DIY channel, at 7 and 10 PM, PST.

Hold me.

  1. Yay! So exciting! I really hope we get the DIY channel!

  2. The info blob says:

“Contractor John Rohwer and designer Cheryl Weigand help a woman give her yard some youthful charm, including an outdoor grill with a solar shade structure, a seating area with custom fire bowls and a unique mermaid water feature.”

Is that you? UNIQUE MERMAID WATER FEATURE? Really?!?

  3. Yeah… me, too (checking on if we get DIY or no). Anxious to see how y’all did on this show!

  4. Ooooo, I am totally going to see if Jennie will let me come over to watch it at her house.

  5. I am SO ON THAT!

    I can’t wait!

  6. Nooooooooooo! I don’t get the channel! hopefully they will put the episode online.

  7. DVRing it right now!

  8. Watching you now! You are such a cutie. How did you not blow a gasket when they broke the water main????

  9. YAY! Your yard looks awesome! And you were cool as a cucumber when the water thing happened. I wouldn’t have been! You and the fam looked great. Love the pink and red shirts!

  10. Ok, your yard did look amazing when I saw it, but now seeing what it USED to look like? (as in, NORMAL) you’re new yard is FANTASTIC!!! Wish I had spent more time focused on it and not the 2 yr old in your pool. 🙂

  11. During Turf Wars I kept thinking how cool it is that there are these people on t.v. that I “know” even thought I have never met them–I was rooting for your team as if you were my cousins!

The outcome was beautiful–I loved the circles in circles motif of the lawn and stepping stones, the wall art is great, and the raised veggie garden is genius.

Unlike the other commenters, I was amazed at your composure not over the water main breaking, but over the bratty, tantrum-throwing adult.

BTW, did they finish the stops and handrail afterwards? Anyway, great show. I’m so happy for all of you.

  12. Loved it. Absolutely loved it.

I’m burning that to DVD. Seriously. 🙂

I told Mr. E that if I had been a Neighborhood Judge, I totally would have given your yard more points than the other yard. It was so much better all the way around.

Now I’m disappointed my trip to California took place LAST summer, because otherwise I would be able to see the New and Improved Yard this summer.

  13. Love your new yard! The circles are great.

  14. Is Emily’s description the right one?? Because I totally didn’t read this until this morning, so now I’m going to have to look for it on re-runs. Which, fortunately, are on all the time.

  15. Just got to watch it and- YOU WON YOU WON YOU WON!!! Your yard looks fabulous, and I liked seeing a peek at Eli right at the end! Congratulations.

P.S. when we were watching it, I said to M., “that’s Elizabeth, the person responsible for our living room color!”

  16. p.p.s. That Lionel dude needs anger management something serious.

  17. When they unfolded the paper at the end and showed that you had won, I burst into tears. Midol, anyone? JEEZ!

But I thought you were cuter than a button, and your husband too. Seeing Eli at the end was a kick! Your yard looks amazing (so much better than the mermaid thing). But the dude having fits about the porch – seriously, he needs Midol too.

  18. 😦 I don’t have DIY network, because we’re broke as broke. But I saw this description on the website!

Super excited for you! Can we see pics now???

  19. No DIY at our house… but I checked out your Flickr photos in the next post and the yard looks wonderful. Nice!

  20. nice information. i like it. i will wait for the next article
    i will bookmark it

  21. Okay, I’m watching on hulu now and wondering how you did not LOSE YOUR MIND when that water main broke. And out there bailing out water too!
